We had an incredible ribbon cutting event for the Eastport Community Farm.
There are so many amazing people to thank for helping make this event so wonderful. Rhomeio and the NO HARM team of the Mayor’s office for the chairs and scissors. Michelle and company from the Junior League, Chad and the Whole Foods team and of course Mary and the EWE foundation for their gift of $10,000 dollars to greatly help our fundraising to finish the space.
Our Joy Grows team to make the event happen: Donna, Lily, Linda, Craig, Zai, Bree and our board members Kevin, Tamela and Kris.
Thank you to our City, County and State’s great civic leaders for their support and encouragement, especially Alderwoman Diesha Contee and Haca Director Mellissa Maddox-Evans
The farm itself has reached this point thanks to major contributions from our team listed above and ongoing support from David, Ricardo, Dan, Randy, Miss Dominic, Mr Brooks, Leon, Edward, Tony, Mari, Nick, Jackie, Pedro, John and Earl.
Other generous in-kind supporters include: Thos Somerville Co, Wimbish Masonry and Jan Scopel. The success and abundance of the farm is thanks to the dedicated guidance and generous contributions of Heinz, Gabrielle and Raphaelle of Next Step Produce.
As we start our summer season, we’ll be building the farm’s kitchen and carpentry space while planting and cultivating abundance. Youth projects and community enterprises will proliferate as we collaborate as much as possible.
