We are a small nonprofit working out of Annapolis, MD. Our goal is to collaborate with members of low-income communities in Annapolis, especially youth, to create shared gardens. Access to nourishing food and empowerment through skill building is important to us, and we hope to facilitate it through garden-focused programming. We aim to make our programs as inspirational and as replicable as possible, so that others may follow in our footsteps throughout the country.
We have created gardens throughout Ward 6 (Eastport area) of Annapolis. This includes Eastport Terraces, Harbour House, and Robinwood communities. These communities are home to very wonderful tightly knit people, including many bright and motivated youth, but face poverty and lack of access to fresh, nutritious vegetables and fruits. We hope to expand our influence in Eastport this year by developing the Eastport Community Farm and Greenhouse.
Our organization first started collaborating with community leader Donna Johnson in Fall 2023. We broke ground on our first garden in Harbour House in Spring 2025. To date we have recurring collaborations with over 100 community members and have produced thousands of servings of fresh fruits and vegetables, mostly harvested directly by the community. We have seven sites, four of which are public and in collaboration with the Housing Authority of City of Annapolis (HACA). We have 1,500 square feet of garden space, a Youth Kitchen program, and a Youth Garden Stewardship program.
